Guidelines for authors

Contributions

Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching welcomes previously unpublished articles in the field of learning and teaching second and foreign languages. The contributions can take the form of original research reports, replication studies, review articles, state of the art papers, reply articles and bookreviews. The papers should be in the range of 6000-8000 words and book reviews about 1000 words in length. Format

Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word or RTF files. In cases where extensive graphics or phonetic symbols are used an accompanying PDF file is recommended. Each paper must contain an abstract of 150-200 words, up to 5 keywords, and a note about the author of about 100 words. A separate title page should be provided which, apart from the title of the submission, should also include full names of all the authors, their affiliations, e-mail and postal addresses. The title, but no information about contributors, should also be provided at the beginning of the text, preceding the abstract.

The manuscripts must conform to the specifications of Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (sixth edition). Basic Information about the style can be found at:

Review

Submissions are subjected to a double-blind review process conducted by three referees who may be members of the Editorial Board and other experts in the field. Authors are notified of acceptance or rejection of their papers within three months of the submission date.

 

 

Complimentary copies

Authors of papers and reviews receive two copies of the issue in which their work is published.

Authors

Authors of texts accepted for publication in Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching (SSLLT) are required to complete, sign and return to the editor's office the Agreement for granting a royalty-free license to works with a commitment to grant a CC sub-license.

Under the agreement, the authors of texts published in SSLLT grant the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań a non-exclusive, royalty-free license and authorize the use of the Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) Creative Commons sub-license.

The authors retain the right to continue the free disposal of the work.
 

Users
Interested Internet users are entitled to use works published in SSLLT since 2015 under the following conditions:

  • attribution - obligation to provide, together with the distributed work, information about the authorship, title, source (link to the original work, DOI) and the license itself.

Copyrights are reserved for all texts published before 2015.
 

Miscellaneous
Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań retains the right to magazines as a whole (layout, graphic form, title, cover design, logo etc.).

 

 

Prevention of ghostwriting and guest authorship

Ghostwriting and guest authorship are violations of scientific honesty and publication ethics and all documented cases will be made public including the notification of appropriate institutions such as authors’ employers, scientific societies, scientific editors’ associations, etc.

 

 

Anti-plagiarism measures

In order to guarantee originality and high quality of the published articles, the journal follows the established procedures in their evaluation and is a member of the CrossCheck service. CrossCheck is an initiative established by CrossRef and iThenticate, whose aim is to provide publishers with professional support in preventing plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. The system is a high-quality tool for comparing documents against the largest database of academic content in the world, obtained from numerous publishers.
